Welcome to one of the gateways to becoming a more culturally competent healthcare professional! Northwest AHEC is pleased to have partnered with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office of Minority Health (OMH) as it developed and tested its Cultural Competency Modules. Northwest AHEC played a role in assisting with the recruitment of family physicians to test the modules and serving as one of six test sites. The modules are intended to equip family physicians with the competencies that will enable them to better treat an increasingly diverse U.S. population.  In addition, Northwest AHEC assisted in the development of the modules for nurses.

The DHSS Office of Minority Health website will collect registration information for the issuance of appropriate continuing education credits.
