Description:
This CME activity, targeted to family practitioners and general internists, is designed
as a review/update of selected areas of medicine. Each lecture will incorporate
clinical cases with audience response interaction led by renowned faculty. By
attending, participants should increase their knowledge of the subjects presented
and then be able to apply that knowledge to specific patient management problems.
This year's emphasis will be devoted to the areas of emergency medicine, infectious
diseases, nephrology, urology, neurology, OB/GYN, post-surgical care, regenerative
medicine, health literacy, and pharmaceutical marketing practices. Additional highlights
of this year's meeting include a bonus, 1-hour endocrinology session and tips and take
home materials for improving patient-physician communication and optimizing
prescribing habits. The atmosphere is informal, and registrants are encouraged to
participate in discussions. In addition, the faculty will be available throughout the
meeting for individual questions.
Describe appropriate practice performance and best practices for the
prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in a primary care setting of the clinical
areas presented in this CME activity.
Identify quality and cost effective care standards for the clinical areas listed.
Report on new medical information relevant to the clinical topics.
Recognize how a patient's health literacy level can affect patient compliance
with prescribed treatment, willingness to seek care, and possible complications
including increased hospitalizations.
Discuss how pharmaceutical marketing practices can affect his/her prescribing
patterns.

Description
$425.00
The registration fee for this activity is $425 ($500 at the door). This fee includes the
CME sessions, a comprehensive handout, continental breakfasts, breaks, and a
buffet breakfast on Sunday for you and a guest. Cancellations received in writing
prior to Friday, October 16 will receive a full refund minus a $50 administrative fee.
Refunds will not be available for cancellations after this date. The pre-registration
deadline is Friday, October 16.
