Description:
This is a CME-approved, web-based curriculum on rational prescribing. It has five independent lesson plans designed to educate clinicians and bring about change in prescribing behavior.
Sponsorship Statement:
This work was made possible by a grant from the states' Attorney General Consumer and Prescriber Education Grant Program, which is funded by the multi-state settlement of consumer fraud claims regarding the marketing of the prescription drug Neurontin.
Objectives:
Enhance skills in critical appraisal of medical literature pertaining to drug trials;
Improve understanding of the FDA, including the approval and monitoring processes;
Enhance skills in recognizing and addressing marketing influences on prescribing behavior;
Increase knowledge of evidence-based prescribing practices to enhance quality of care;
