Equine Assisted Psychotherapy EAP focuses specifically on mental health problems while Equine Assisted Learning EAL is more generally applied to a wide range of life challenges such as dealing effectively with grief and loss.  EAPEAL are collaborative efforts involving a licensed therapist a horse professional and horses working with clients to address treatment andor personal goals.  Participants learn about themselves and others by engaging in activities with horses and processing thoughts beliefs and behavior patterns.  The focus of EAPEAL is on participants finding their own solutions to problems.  These therapies are utilized for individuals couples families and groups.  EAP is an effective treatment for mental health problems including mood and anxiety disorders eating disorders substance abuse conduct difficulties posttraumatic stress disorder and anger management problems.  EAL can be an empowering process for people dealing with chronic medical illnesses work or school stress life transitions grief and loss.  This workshop provides opportunities for attendees to experience the power of working with horses while engaging in experiential learning activities.  All activities are conducted on the ground.  There is no riding involved in this workshop.  No experience with horses is necessary and safety information is reviewed throughout the workshop.
