What is Mediasite?

Streaming Media Web Server 
  • Northwest AHEC maintains a robust dual processor machine for streaming presentations inside and outside of the firewall.
  • Presentations use about 1mb per minute of storage space and are available for up to 1 year.
  • Presentations can be streamed live (as they are taking place) or on demand (after they have been recorded).
Personnel
  • It takes at least one NWAHEC staff person to operate this equipment to capture the presentation.
  • In some cases 2 or more people are required.
  • Allow 30 minutes on either side of the presentation for set up and breakdown.
 
How Much Does it Cost?

Technician/Developer Support
  • $125/ Hour
  • 2 hours of technician time for every 1 hour of finished MediaSite recording
  • 1 hour of set up/breakdown time per recording
  • 1 hour if recording is to be a CE activity with the following information stored in statewide database (CASCE)
    • Online registration
    • Secure online payment
    • Authenticated login to course
    • Credit awarded by NWAHEC
Burned CD's of the Presentation
  • Burned CD's of presentation $5 each .
